Community + Mobility Conference: Living with the technologies of remote communication

Exploring the role of remote communication technologies (email, mobile,chat rooms) within and between communities,2nd October, Oxford

  2 October 2003, Said Business School, Oxford

 A variety of speakers will be in attendance to discuss and examine a range of issues evolving  around the relationship between remote technologies and different communities. As communication technologies facilitate the process in which we communicate, are electronic barriers to “new encounters and cross-cultural experiences” also been created within this environment?.  What are the effects on “face to face relationships at neighbourhood level?”

These a few of the questions we face in relation to remote communication and neighbourhoods.
