Sandwell Sikh Forum

We are here to help Punjabi Women

If there are mobility problems our outreach advice worker can visit.

The Punjabi and Sikh Communities that settled in the region during the post war period are facing a range of problems and difficulties. The projects are designed to help the community in the Sandwell area overcome issues related to unemployment, alienation, poor health and low levels of educational attainment.

As well as offering adult guidance and support in the form of internet access, job search, training courses, and help with CV and applications, the 2002/2003 programme includes the following courses: confidence building, ESOL, sewing, keep fit, music, football, dressmaking, soft furnishing, IT, Punjabi GCSE, Mendhi, First Aid, flower arranging, swimming classes and OCN broadcasting.
